Mangaluru, 21 September
A 28-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly throwing her three-and-a-half-year-old son and her sister-in-law’s three-year-old into a well following a marital dispute in Dakshina Kannada. Noorunnisa was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
The incident occurred on 19 September in Perne, Puttur taluk, after she argued with her husband Sinan over a phone call.
Residents rescued the children from the well; the son of her husband's sister died, while her own child was hospitalised in Mangaluru. A case is registered at Uppinangady police station, and investigations are ongoing.
